How we work

A SOURCE OF PRIDE
It is important to know where things come from and it’s equally important to know where things are going. Proud Source Water is proud to be an “AMERICAN ORIGINAL” that does its part—both for our future and our community.

Idaho’s premium alkaline spring water is bottled in a truly sustainable vessel at the source right here in the USA. Proud Source Water is proud to call Mackay its home. We look forward to growing with the community of Mackay and help strengthen the local economy. It is our goal to work closely with the local government to help improve the local infrastructure with a focus on local workforce, the school district, and city resources.

"The city is proud to have Proud Source Water in the community. We are glad they have chose Mackay as the location for their business."

- Wayne Olsen, Mayor of Mackay

SUSTAINABLE FACILITY

Our plant is located at the base of Mt. McCaleb which allows us to bottle water at the spring source. A few green attributes about how we bottle our water.

Roof Skylights

To minimize interior lighting requirement and cut down on electrical use.

Gravity Fed Water Supply

We do not truck water to a plant, instead we use a gravity fed water supply system which requires zero energy. The plant is located approximately 500ft. below the spring source to allow enough natural gravity head pressure to carry the water at a high rate without the need of electrical pumping systems.

Backhaul Agreement

Backhaul means to utilize a truck to carry cargo on a return journey that would otherwise be empty. Due to the remote location, we have arranged to backhaul products to a centralized point of distribution, making our products more accessible while reducing the carbon footprint.

Hydronic Radiant Floor Heating

The plant is located in a very cold climate area, 6,000ft in elevation. Therefore we designed radiant floor heating to cut down our energy use throughout the winter.

Locally Sourced Materials

All equipment was build and purchased in the United States. In addition we sourced building materials locally when possible. Local hands built the entire plant.

Only 2% of our spring water source is used in bottling.

Much of Custer and Lemhi Counties are unihabited and extremely rugged. Custer County contains topographically rugged areas where there are no demands on the ground water system. Custer County is a non drought stricken location.

Proud Source Water believes in bringing accountability and transparency to the bottled water category. We hope to educate consumers on the harmful practices currently monopolizing the industry and the importance of purchasing sustainable products.

PROUD TO DO OUR PART

ISSUE

Last year bottled water surpassed soda in sales as the number one beverage in America.

ROOT CAUSE

As people continue to move away from canned sugary beverages and into plastic bottled water we need to find ways in which to combat the sea of plastic waste left in wake of this trend.

EDUCATION

Through partnerships we look to help build awareness around this growing issue. We will look to educate consumers about the health of the planet and how/why to choose sustainable products.

GOAL

Proud Source Water is looking to build loyal, responsible consumer habits by offering a bottle of water that is better for the enviroment and healthy to the consumer. This in short would force people to reconsider plastic bottles and start a change in trends.

AMERICANS SEND NEARLY 38 BILLIONS PLASTIC WATER BOTTLES TO LANDFILLS AND OCEANS EVERY YEAR. CHOOSE TO SAY NO TO PLASTIC.
